VIC – Melbourne – DP World West Swanson Terminal Planned Closure Advisory – June 26 & July 2–3, 2026

Written by KLN Oceania | Jun 24, 2026 5:42:29 AM

DP World West Swanson Terminal in Melbourne has advised of two upcoming planned road operations closures affecting container movements. Customers with imports, exports, or empty container returns moving through this terminal should take action now to minimise potential delays.

Friday, 26 June 2026 — Partial Closure

Road operations will be suspended from 06:00, with normal operations resuming at 14:00 on the same day.

Import free time has been extended for cargo arriving on the following vessels:

  • ANL ROTURUA
  • KOTA LIHAT
  • LONG BEACH EXPRESS

If your shipment is on one of these services, please confirm the applicable revised free time with your KLN account manager.

Thursday, 2 July – Friday, 3 July 2026 — Full 24-Hour Closure

Operations will cease at 06:00 on Thursday, 2 July and will not resume until 06:00 on Friday, 3 July — a full 24-hour closure. The Receival and Delivery (R&D) schedule has been adjusted to accommodate this closure for both exports and import free time.

What You Need to Do

To minimise the risk of delays, please ensure the following are submitted well in advance of each closure:

  • Port Release Authorities (PRAs)
  • Equipment Delivery Orders (EDOs)
  • Customs clearances

Early submission is particularly important given the Friday, 26 June closure date is imminent.

Empty Container Returns

Redirections may be required for some empty container dehire units during the closure periods. KLN will contact customers where a redirection is needed. Please be aware that where a suitable redirection cannot be arranged, customers may be exposed to container detention charges.

For any questions or assistance planning around these closures, please contact your KLN account manager directly.
