Depot Fees Update (Effective 1 February) + POAL VBS Reminder

Please be advised of updated depot fees due to cost increases across multiple empty depots in Auckland and Christchurch. These charges should be taken into account when quoting, booking, or raising costs from 1 February onwards.

Updated depot fees (per container)

Auckland depots (excluding FCT/LINK):

• $135.00 + GST per container

LINK and POAL:

• $210.00 + GST per container (current charge – previously increased last year)

Christchurch depots:

• $115.00 + GST per container

Reminder: Port of Auckland (POAL) VBS fee increases (FCL)

As previously advised, POAL has implemented significant increases to Vehicle Booking System (VBS) charges impacting full container movements:

• From 1 January 2026: peak-hour +35% and off-peak +15%
• From 1 July 2026: an additional peak-hour +28% and off-peak +33%

These changes are intended to reduce congestion and encourage off-peak usage. We recommend factoring these increases into forward planning and considering mitigations such as off-peak scheduling, alternative routing via Port of Tauranga (where feasible), and Dynamic FCL Hubbing to help manage overall costs.
