NSW Sydney – Empty Depot Closures and Redirections Due to High Winds - September 11

Written by KLN Oceania | Sep 11, 2025 1:31:56 AM

Please be advised that due to strong wind conditions across Sydney, multiple empty container depots have suspended operations. Several pools and yards remain closed, with redirections in place.

Current Impacts:

  • HLC 40HC Pool – Closed due to high winds. Redirect to MCS Cooks River Rail until further notice.

  • All Empty Areas – Direct Return Empties and Stack Runs suspended. Trucks currently on site must leave empty areas; loading has stopped. Alternate off-hire facilities to be used.

  • DPLP Yard – Closed as winds exceed safety thresholds. Bookings cannot be actioned until reopening broadcast is issued.

  • TYNE ACFS (NSW Gate B8 – Matraville) – Temporarily accepting certain lines (CMA 45G1/42G1 and TSL 45G1) while DRE pool remains closed.

Operational Impact:

  • Truck redirections and futile trips will occur where depots are inaccessible.

  • Timeslot cancellations may happen at short notice, with potential additional charges.

  • While KLN will do all possible to dehire empties within the free period, please note KLN cannot be held responsible for detention costs arising from these weather-related closures.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates as depots confirm reopening or further redirections.
