Please be advised that high wind conditions across Sydney are causing empty park closures at short notice. These conditions are expected to continue throughout the day and may significantly impact empty container dehire operations.

Current Situation

  • Multiple empty depots have closed without notice due to high wind gusts.

  • All Direct Return Empty (DRE) areas are currently closed.

  • Depots are directing carriers to alternate off-hire locations until conditions improve.

  • A notification will be issued once operations resume.

Operational Impact

  • KLN will make every effort to dehire empty containers within the free period and meet terminal or delivery timeslots.

  • However, due to weather-related closures:

    • Some empties may need to be staged back to our yard (additional charges may apply).

    • Container detention remains the responsibility of the cargo owner during weather-related shutdowns.

    • Time slot cancellations may occur at short notice and may incur additional charges.

    • Trucks currently en route or onsite at the time of closure may incur futile charges.

Our team is monitoring updates from all Sydney empty parks and will provide further information as soon as depots reopen or issue new alerts.
