Please be advised that **severe weather conditions in Sydney**, including **high winds and active lightning**, are causing **immediate and unplanned closures** across multiple empty depots and terminal facilities. These conditions are expected to continue throughout the day and may result in significant operational disruption.
### Current Disruptions
#### **DP World Port Botany**
- **13:00 time slots cancelled** due to lightning strikes.
- Trucks already inside the terminal have been suspended from service.
- Additional time slot cancellations may occur **at short notice**.
- All **Direct Return Empties and Stack Runs** have been **halted until further notice** due to high wind gusts.
- Carriers are being instructed to redirect empties to alternate depots.
#### **ACFS e-Depot**
- Experiencing **intermittent closures** due to high winds.
- Further interruptions are possible throughout the day.
#### **Other Empty Parks**
- Multiple empty depots across Sydney are closing with **no prior notice** as wind conditions escalate.
- Futile charges will apply for any trucks arriving at depots after closures are announced.
### Operational Impact
- Empty dehire movements will be **heavily impacted**, and delays are expected across the network.
- KLN will make every effort to dehire empty containers within free time, but:
- Some empties may need to be **staged back to our yard** (additional charges may apply).
- **Container detention liability remains with the cargo owner** during weather-related closures.
- Time slot cancellations may impact both **terminal and delivery schedules**.
- Trucks already en route or on site at the time of closure may incur **futile or redirection charges**.
### What Happens Next
Our team is monitoring all depot and terminal notifications in real time. Updates will be shared as soon as facilities confirm reopening or issue new alerts.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while these weather events continue to disrupt operations across Sydney.
