Please be advised of the latest developments regarding Super Typhoon Ragasa (Nando), which is forecast to make landfall in southern China around 23–24 September 2025.

Update 1 -

Due to the typhoon, all Shenzhen offices and CFS facilities are currently closed. Operations are tentatively scheduled to resume on 26 September, subject to weather conditions and official advisories.

Please be advised that this disruption may affect CFS cargo cut-off times for upcoming seafreight sailings and cause delays to all airfreight shipments, as airlines will need time to clear the resulting backlog.

We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

Geographic Areas Affected

According to the National Meteorological Center:

  • The typhoon will move west-northwest after entering the northeastern South China Sea early on 23 September.

  • It is expected to impact the coastal regions of western Guangdong to northeastern Hainan Island.

  • Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan ports and terminals may experience severe disruptions from heavy wind and rain.

  • Current forecasts indicate Shanghai and Ningbo are not expected to be directly impacted at this stage.

Airport Closures and Flight Suspensions

  • Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA): Preparing for a 36-hour suspension of most operations, from 6:00 PM on 23 September until 6:00 AM on 25 September. Hundreds of flights have already been cancelled.

  • Other airports across Guangdong and Hainan are on high alert; further cancellations are possible.

Port & Terminal Impacts

  • Shenzhen / Guangzhou (Yantian, Shekou, Nansha): As of now, no official blanket closure notices, but carriers and terminals warn of possible suspensions if wind speeds increase.

  • Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan: CMA CGM has confirmed that terminals in these regions are likely to be seriously affected by the typhoon.

  • We strongly recommend:

    • Customers monitor local port authority notices.

    • Arrange early pickup or delay delivery of sensitive cargo (DG, reefers, OOG, high-value cargo).

    • Be prepared for gate closures and redirections at short notice.

Customer Guidance

  • For exports/imports in South China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan): anticipate delays, possible terminal closures, and vessel schedule disruptions.

  • For Hong Kong shipments: plan for significant flight cancellations and logistics disruption around 23–25 September.

  • For Shanghai/Ningbo cargo: no current impact expected, but we recommend monitoring closely as conditions can change.

  • Be aware of potential ETD delays and vessel schedule adjustments as carriers re-route or adjust operations.

We are monitoring the situation in real time and will provide further updates as soon as port authorities or carriers release confirmed closure or reopening notices.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this period of disruption.
