Please be advised that strong wind conditions across both Sydney and Melbourne today, Friday 27 March 2026, are impacting operations at container parks and terminals.

Sydney – Current Status

  • DP World Container Parks may experience intermittent closures throughout the day
  • All empty areas at Port Botany are currently closed
    • Direct Return Empties suspended
    • Stack Runs suspended
    • Trucks in-yard instructed to exit
  • Movements to alternate off-hire depots are being arranged where possible

Melbourne – Current Status

  • Widespread impact across container parks including:
    • ACFS
    • DP World
    • VICT
    • Melbourne Container Park
  • Intermittent closures expected throughout the day
  • VICT bookings between 07:00 – 12:00 have been cancelled

Expected Impact

Customers should anticipate:

  • Delays to container collections and empty dehires
  • Timeslot cancellations and reduced capacity
  • Potential futile charges for trucks already en route or on-site
  • Ongoing disruption as facilities open and close based on safety conditions

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, KLN will not be liable for any detention or related charges resulting from weather-related closures beyond our control.

We are closely monitoring the situation across both locations and will provide further updates as conditions evolve.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
